Valor's Football team is now 2-0 after a big home victory versus Rock Canyon on Friday night. Valor scored 28 points in the first quarter to roll to a 42-0 lead at the half.
Offensively, the offensive line led by Jackson Anderson, Nick Lyon, Kaiden Parrish, Christian Benedetto, and Jake Maikkula paved the way for Gavin Sawchuk, who had 206 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 12 carries. The offensive rolled up 386 yards on the night. Tyler Larson had a big 57-yard touchdown reception from Colton Allen. Sean McNair and Allen were collectively 11 for 12 passing for 110 yards.
Valor received the ball to open the second half with a nine-play drive that ended with a six-yard touchdown from Zach Wiley, who finished the night with 61 yards rushing on seven carries.
Defensively, Valor recorded its second shutout in as many games with another outstanding performance. The defense only gave up 57 total yards on the night. The defense was led by Eli Hamilton, Andrew Hale, and Jordan Norwood who all recorded five tackles. Norwood also had 2.5 tackles for a loss.
The Valor special teams were solid as well, Sean Fields had a great night kicking the ball off and also connected on all seven of his PATs.
