After trailing 14-7 early in the second quarter, the Valor Eagle Football team scored seven unanswered touchdowns to take over the game against Castle View. After junior running back Gavin Sawchuk scored on a 42-yard carry, the Sabercats scored a pair of touchdowns on sustained drives utilizing a lot of misdirection against the Eagles. The Eagle momentum took over from that point on as they would score 49 points to earn the running clock late in the third quarter.
The offense was led by both Sawchuk and Zach Wiley eclipsing the century mark in rushing yards. Sawchuk carried the ball 13 times for 185 yards and five scores, while Wiley added 108 yards on seven carries with a pair of touchdowns. Quarterback Sean McNair threw the ball for 162 yards, completing 11 of his 16 passes. McNair produced one touchdown to Tyler Larson who caught four passes for 81 yards.
Defensively, Eli Hamilton paced the effort with 17 tackles with one tackle for loss. Andrew Hale had 10 tackles with one for loss, while Jordan Norwood chipped in nine tackles, one for a loss, and a sack.
The Eagles will face the ThunderRidge Grizzlies this Thursday night at Shea Stadium.
