Coach Ruempolhamer left his home in the Netherlands at the age of 16 to pursue his dream of playing football in America. After earning a starting spot at Tulsa Union High School his senior year, he went on to Iowa State University as a scholarship athlete. Coach Ruempolhamer became a starter his sophomore year and was elected team captain as a senior. Though his NFL aspirations were cut short due to injuries, this faith in Jesus Christ extended his purpose within the game of football into coaching. After serving as defensive coordinator at Thomas Jefferson and Mullen High School, he became the head coach at Denver East, where he has served for the past four years.
Coach Ruempolhamer’s life has been deeply influenced by his foundation in Christ, which has provided him with a sense of purpose, resilience, and a commitment to serving others. This foundation has shaped his approach to leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. He will bring a strong leadership presence rooted in the Lord to the football program.
