2026 Boys Volleyball Season Underway

The Valor Boys Volleyball program is excited to get the 2026 campaign underway.  With a successful 2025 season in which the program fielded 3 teams for the first time, finished 5th at the state tournament, and graduated 4 starters, many may think that 2026 would be a down year for the Eagles, but Head Coach Scott Peluso feels differently.  When looking at the season, Pelsuo said, "We are extremely excited for this season.  We have more depth than ever and a lot of young talent this year.  All three teams are solid, and we expect each of them to be very competitive.  Try-outs alone showed that with team placement for all of our athletes being challenging because of how well everyone did."

The Varsity team will consist of 8 returners and 7 new additions.  They will be led by 6 seniors, including Outside Hitter Reed Fisk, Middle Blockers Ted Ranzan and Wyatt Rocha, Right Sides Jaden Nelson, Locke Scripps, and Logan Antonovich.  The offense will be run by setters Renn Bailey (JR)  and Andrew Connor (SO).  Joining Fisk on the outside are Caleb Conway (JR) and Taggart White (FR).  James Losasso (JR) will be roaming the back row as a Defensive Specialist.

In addition to these 11 full-time varsity players, 4 JV players will be swinging up to compete for playing time. These include Middle Blocker Bennett Krug (JR), Setter/Serving Specialist Graham Himango (JR), Setter/Right Side Brooks Ranzan (FR), and Defensive Specialist Xander Pojar (FR).  "For the first time in my tenure here at Valor, we have great depth in every position.  This makes for a competitive practice environment, which will make us that much more competitive for the season," said Peluso about his roster.

Valor's schedule remains one of the toughest in the state.  In their league alone are the 3 top-ranked teams in the Coaches' preseason poll: Eaglecrest, Littleton Public Schools, and Grandview.  The Eagles are also scheduled to play 2 other schools from the top ten (of which they were voted 6th) in non-conference play, book ending the season as they close with #7 Douglas County and on February 28th with #9 Castle View in their season opener.  They are also competing in the Cheyenne Mountain Tournament that always attracts many of the top teams in the field.

When looking ahead to the season, Coach Peluso said, "I am so grateful for the effort that our team has put in during the off-season and am looking forward to a year full of community building, striving to worship God in all that we do, and continually refining our team."
