Traveling to Costa Rica with the girls basketball team was an incredible experience. We immersed ourselves in the culture by attending church, hosting basketball clinics, painting schools, and working at a daycare. We also walked the streets of Sector B to serve the community by bringing food, sharing our testimonies, meeting local families, and praying with people through their hardships. At the end of each day, we met as a team to reflect on what God had done in our lives and what He was trying to speak through each one of us. One of the most special parts of the trip was seeing God's light shine through our discovery leader, Salvador. He welcomed us like family and shared his testimony. Hearing about his experiences while seeing his joy, faith, and love for others was incredibly inspiring. Salvador reminded me that serving others is not just about what we do, but the love and faith we bring to those around us.
