Brent enters his fifth season with the Valor Christian hockey program and his third season as head coach of the Junior Varsity team. Last season he led the Junior Varsity squad to their first ever CAHA State Championship Junior Varsity Division title including a thrilling 1-0 victory over Regis Jesuit High School in the championship game at the Pepsi Center. 

In their inaugural season of play (2017-18), Brent guided his JV squad to the second best record in the state.  

Apart from his coaching responsibilities at Valor, he is the Program Director/Advertising for the Ice Ranch. He is also the head coach with Team Colorado’s U19 Girls hockey program.

Brent was born and raised in Wisconsin and spent his youth playing hockey and baseball. He is a 2002 graduate of North Central University (Minnesota) where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Youth Psychology while playing collegiate baseball and soccer.  He went on to play Club hockey at the University of Colorado from 2009-11.

Since beginning his coaching career in 2002, Brent has worked with High School programs, AA and AAA club teams in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado. In 2012-13, Brent coached the Club team at the University of Colorado-Denver to their first winning record in school history. 

Brent has been an assistant coach with three Colorado youth teams that have travelled internationally, including two that competed in Switzerland, winning tournament titles in 2013 and 2014. Prior to joining the Valor coaching staff, Brent assisted at Columbine High School from 2008-2015.

Brent resides in Littleton with his wife Lauren and their daughter Felicity.
