Valor Christian High School Athletics

Appointed 2007. Mr. Byler was appointed to the history department as a founding member of the Valor faculty. In addition to his current role as an Assistant Athletic Director providing oversight for Student Information Systems Management and the Athletic Operations team, Mr. Byler has spent time as the Head of the History Department, the Head Basketball Coach and the Enrollment Coordinator, as well as serving as the public address announcer for Valor sports programs. Prior to his appointment, he taught in the Jeffco Public School District where he was awarded Dakota Ridge Teacher of the Year. He also served the physically and mentally disabled students in the Warwick School District in Pennsylvania. Recently, Justen has been blessed to be a part of 3 golf state championships while being named Colorado 5A Coach of the Year in each of the past 3 school years - 2020-21 (Boys), 2021-22 (Girls), and 2022-23 (Girls).

Justen and his wife, Teri Lynn, love bring a part of the Valor Community, including as parents of Valor Alum/CU Buff, Logan ('20), and current Valor Student Maci ('26). The Bylers are active members of Cherry Hills Community and enjoy time together, including relaxation in the mountains and traveling to see family.
